Job description

Position

We are looking for a Lead Planner to join our team at Bonatti Spa Dutch Branch for the Porthos CO₂ Project, which involves the construction of a compression station to store CO₂ in an empty gas field in the North Sea.

The Lead Planner will be responsible for driving the planning strategy, supervising the development and management of the Planning, Progress Measurement and Reporting Systems, and ensuring full alignment with project objectives. He/She will provide guidance to planners and project teams, supporting Project Management in the decision-making process to deliver the project in accordance with the baseline and targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning function across all project phases (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning).
  • Ensure that any deviation from the plan is promptly identified, analyzed, and addressed; oversee the definition of recovery actions and monitor their implementation.
  • Support the Project Control Manager in the definition and enforcement of the Project Control Plan, Planning and Scheduling Procedure, Progress Measurement Procedure, and Reporting Procedure.
  • Define and manage the Project Baseline, including schedule basis and narrative, Critical Path Analysis, Progress Monitoring Curves, and Histograms.
  • Supervise all schedule updates, ensuring accurate evaluation of completion dates, project delays, progress, and productivity against the Baseline Schedule.
  • Oversee the set-up and implementation of the Progress Measurement System, guaranteeing consistency and reliability across disciplines.
  • Provide strategic input to the change and claim management process, ensuring timely incorporation of approved changes and Extensions of Time into the project schedule.
  • Act as the primary reference for planning-related reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Diploma, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Solid understanding of project planning principles (WBS, baseline, current forecast, critical path, early/late dates, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of standard planning techniques and methodologies, with the ability to develop and adapt critical path networks to the specific project context.
  • Proven experience in Progress Measurement methods across all project phases (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning).
  • Proficiency in planning tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • High attention to detail, precision, and accuracy, with a structured and methodical approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide clear insights and recommendations to project management.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with previous experience in leading or mentoring planning teams considered a plus.
