Job summary

FSO Instruments in Delft seeks a Medior to Senior MAIT Lead Engineer to own verification of optical communication terminals from development through qualification and acceptance. The role requires coordinating teams in Delft and Almelo, translating system requirements into robust test strategies and leading test campaigns with clear ownership.

The position emphasizes hands-on verification, documentation, and technical leadership in a high-reliability space hardware environment.

Qualifications

• MSc or BSc in aerospace, mechanical, physics or systems engineering.
• Extensive experience with high-tech manufacturing, assembly and testing.
• Proven experience in verification and validation of complex systems.
• Strong planning, documentation and organizational skills.
• Excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Own MAIT and verification approach from development to acceptance.
• Lead MAIT team across Delft and Almelo with clear ownership.
• Define milestones and drive test campaigns with structured planning.
• Translate system requirements into end-to-end verification strategy.
• Define verification matrix and test architecture across levels.
• Lead advanced test setups for optical, mechanical, electrical performance.
• Act as technical authority during assembly, integration and verification.
• Review designs for testability and drive design improvements.
• Guide engineers and document test plans and reports.
• Lead data interpretation and root-cause analysis.
