Job summary

Star is seeking an experienced instrumentation engineering lead to design and supervise instrumentation projects across study through detailed engineering. You will manage field instruments, valves and the deliverables for the instrumentation scope, including cost estimates and outsourcing scopes.

Engage with operations, maintenance and vendors, contribute to commissioning and startup activities, and ensure quality through FAT/SAT and project closure.

Qualifications

• Master or Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years with EPC/EPCM in instrumentation engineering and design.
• Lead experience on own projects including guiding other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead instrumentation design across study, FEED, basic and detailed engineering.
• Oversee field instruments, valves and related tasks.
• Prepare deliverables list and cost estimates for instrumentation scope.
• Define scope for outsourced instrumentation works and supervise
• Attend FAT/SAT for critical equipment and ensure QA/QC.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, vendors and contractors.
• Support commissioning and plant startup; contribute to project closure.

Job description

• Responsible for the instrumentation engineering design in the study, feasibility, basicengineering and detailed engineering phases of the project.
• Perform and lead instrumentation engineering design tasks according to the agreed quality,scope, time and safety.
• Participate in project meetings and ensure that the instrumentation engineering design isaccording to the standards.
• Contribute to the project basis of design in all phases.
• Responsible for field instrumentation engineering and related tasks for field instruments andvalves
• Prepare the instrumentation engineering deliverable list for the project.
• Prepare the project cost estimate for instrumentation engineering scope of work.
• Define the scope of work for the outsourced instrumentation engineering works.
• Supervise outsourced engineering work and check relevant documents and specificationssubmitted.
• Responsible for the quality of the outsourced instrumentation engineering works.
• Attend and witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) forcritical equipment and packages
• Provide technical support to maintenance and operation with regards to instrumentationengineering
• Interact and cooperate with other engineering disciplines and specialists like operatingpersonnel, maintenance personnel, plant HSE personnel, vendors, and contractors/specialists.
• Participate in commissioning and plant startup activities.
• Responsible for project closure activities related to instrumentation engineering.
• Maintain and contribute professional knowledge related to instrumentation engineeringtools.

• Master or Bachelor Degree in Electrical / Electronic / Instrumentation Engineering;
• Minimum 15 years experience in working with EPC/EPCM companies for instrumentationengineering and design.
• Working within the fence of oil&gasproduction companies is a big plus.
• Minimum 5 years experience working as a Lead for his/her own projects including leading other instrumentation engineers.
• Experience with DCS, PLC, Safety Instrumentation Systems, Fire & Gas safety systems
• VCA-VOL certified.
• Experience in reverse engineering projects.
• Experience in plant turnaround (TA) projects, capital projects, and BAU support
• Knowledge of relevant tools like SmartPlant Instrumentation
• Knowledge of project preparation and project reviews.
• Ability to work under pressure during plant shutdowns or urgent troubleshooting.
• Fluency in English and preferably good command of the Dutch language.
