Job summary

Workwize is hiring a Staff Engineer in Amsterdam to advance our Laravel (backend) and React (frontend) platform. You will help design scalable APIs and contribute to both front-end and back-end architecture, joining a team that ships features used by thousands of remote workers worldwide.

You’ll mentor engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and lead initiatives that impact multiple product areas. The role is in a flexible hybrid setup with strong emphasis on delivery and quality.

Qualifications

• At least a Bachelor with background in tech or equivalent based on work experience.
• 8+ years work experience with the Laravel and React frameworks.
• Experience building applications with Javascript/Typescript, PHP, HTML5, CSS and MySQL 8.
• Experience mentoring and supporting the professional growth of fellow engineers.
• Experience working with large development teams.
• Clearly explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong track record of leading technical projects and coordinating teams of 3+ engineers.
• Passionate about usability, user experience, beauty and elegance of UI's.
• Eager to learn, discuss and share knowledge with the rest of the teams.
• Nice to have: knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and other tools used in DevOps.
• Absolute fan of TDD and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in product-based companies with multiple product and engineering teams.
• Proven track record of driving engineering initiatives that impacted other teams or the wider organization.

About the Role

We are looking for Laravel focused full-stack engineers to join our product team as Full Stack engineer in Amsterdam. We're a company in hyper growth fase, with a robust product that thousands of people use to setup their remote workspaces.

We are looking for someone who will able to join the team of both remote and hybrid engineers working on both front-end and back-end positions in making the right architectural decision, and bringing our platform to the next level.

Together with your team you will work on building best-in-class product experiences for customers. You will be working together with the team create and design your own re-usable APIs and components.

Our core platform is built on Laravel (backend) and React.js (frontend). We are constantly coming up with new features to continue building our platform and expand our product offering.

Required Skills
