Job summary

Shuter Smith International in The Hague invites an experienced Lead Estimator to join our fast-growing, international engineering team. You will lead FEED and EPC cost estimating for major oil & gas, chemical and petrochemical projects.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, 12+ years in the field, and a proven ability to lead a small estimating team. Relocation and visa support are provided, with strong English communication overall.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related subject.
Minimum 12 years' engineering experience, including FEED/EPC cost estimating.
Proven background in Oil & Gas, Chemical or Petrochemical industries.
Strong understanding of technical specifications, drawings & estimating methodologies.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate cost estimating activities for FEED & EPC projects & proposals.
Work closely with project management and discipline specialists.
Review ITB/tender documentation and identify commercial, technical & project risks.
Prepare engineering, procurement, project management and construction cost estimates.
Coordinate with engineering disciplines to obtain accurate estimating inputs & meet bid deadlines.
Evaluate vendor quotations and prepare equipment & bulk material cost estimates.
Produce feasibility studies including NPV, IRR and payback calculations.
Estimate project man-hours, assess execution risks & recommend contingencies.
Benchmark costs using historical project data.
Participate in proposal reviews & contribute to process improvements.
