Job summary

STAR Specialists is seeking an experienced Engineer in the petrochemical sector to lead E&I activities, design and improve plant systems, and deliver sustainable solutions on major projects.

You will translate requirements into practical E&I designs, review flow metering solutions, and coordinate interfaces across PLC, SCADA, and DCS platforms while ensuring high technical quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Control Engineering or similar.
• Senior/Lead E&I experience in industrial projects and strong leadership.
• Hands-on flow measurement and metering expertise.
• Experience with Coriolis, ultrasonic, turbine, magnetic, V&M and DP metering.
• Knowledge of ATEX/IECEx and hazardous-area engineering.
• Experience with PLC/SCADA/DCS integration and FAT/SAT.

Job description

As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate E&I engineering activities within multidisciplinary projects;
• Translate customer requirements and technical specifications into practical E&I designs;
• Design and review flow measurement and metering solutions;
• Select and specify flowmeters, transmitters, analyzers, control valves and other process instrumentation;
• Prepare and review datasheets, instrument indexes, I/O lists, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable schedules and design philosophies;
• Coordinate interfaces with flow computers, supervisory systems and PLC, SCADA and DCS platforms;
• Define signals, communication protocols, interlocks and functional interfaces;
• Define and coordinate electrical systems, including power distribution, control panels, junction boxes, earthing and cabling;
• Review vendor documentation and perform technical bid evaluations;
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and internal engineering disciplines;
• Perform and support design reviews, constructability reviews, site surveys and technical change management;
• Prepare inspection and test requirements and participate in FAT, SAT, loop checks and commissioning;
• Identify and resolve technical risks, deviations and interface issues;
• Review the work of engineers and designers and safeguard technical quality;
• Develop and share engineering standards, templates and lessons learned.

Requirements

• Broadness of experience: Strong leadership in current scope and authority objective rather than area full of variation;
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Control Engineering or a comparable technical discipline;
• Substantial experience as a Senior or Lead E&I Engineer, Instrumentation Engineer or Metering Engineer within industrial project environments;
• Demonstrable hands-on experience with flow measurement and industrial metering systems;
• Experience in specifying and selecting flow measurement technologies such as Coriolis, ultrasonic, turbine, magnetic, vortex and differential-pressure measurement;
• Sound knowledge of process instrumentation, electrical interfaces and industrial control systems;
• Experience preparing and reviewing datasheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable schedules and technical specifications;
• Experience with PLC, SCADA and/or DCS integration;
• Knowledge of ATEX/IECEx and hazardous-area engineering;
• Experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning and loop checks, preferably including site surveys;
• Experience with customer contact, supplier coordination and technical decision-making;
• Professional command of English.
• Strongly preferred:
• Experience with fiscal or custody transfer metering;
• Knowledge of flow computers and supervisory metering systems;
• Familiarity with API, AGA and/or OIML standards;
• Experience within Oil & Gas, petrochemical, energy, hydrogen or chemical process industries;
• Experience with both brownfield and greenfield projects;
• Experience within multidisciplinary EPC or system integration projects;
• Experience with E-CAD tools and instrumentation database systems.
