What you do as an Electrical Lead Engineer MCF

As an Electrical Lead Engineer, you will work with demanding clients worldwide and collaborate proactively with colleagues globally. Our projects require advanced knowledge beyond standard building features. Your technical and 3D/BIM modelling skills will enable efficient engineering and design modeling.

You will design and work on power supplies ranging from 5 volts DC to 150 kV substations, including all distribution, storage, redundancy, and uninterruptible power supplies. Additionally, you will ensure maximum security of data centres by working on fire protection, intrusion protection, and access control installations. Your daily tasks include risk management, assessments, testing, and commissioning in live data centres. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Managing and delivering electrical work packages across multiple projects;
  • Defining scope, design, management objectives, and project documentation, ensuring quality and information flow for contractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies;
  • Writing technical specifications and reports;
  • Assisting the project manager with cost preparation and risk assessments;
  • Developing and maintaining vendor relationships for ongoing professional development;
  • Reviewing contractor pre-qualifications and tender evaluations;
  • Evaluating proposals and advising clients on vendor selection;
  • Writing technical specifications for tenders;
  • Representing RHDHV during factory acceptance tests and site testing & commissioning activities;
  • Communicating project status to internal and external stakeholders.

You will work within a multidisciplinary, cross-border team, often remotely. Your role also involves contributing to internal process optimization and knowledge sharing within your field and the broader MEP community, including participation in events like the annual MEP knowledge day.

Where you will work

Royal HaskoningDHV has been connecting people for 140 years, contributing to society through sustainable and innovative engineering. With over 6,000 professionals in more than 150 countries, we are a leading global multidisciplinary consultancy.

You will join our Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) team, providing consultancy services for data centre clients, including colocation providers, internet service providers, and telecom companies. Our team includes experts in electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, architectural, fire safety, control engineering, and security technology, working together to develop integrated Data Centre designs. Examples of our projects are available here.

You will work with a dedicated, globally recognized team ranked among the best in Data Centre design and engineering.

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering;
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in electrical design or installation;
  • Knowledge of standard practices in the design and construction industry;
  • Understanding of the operational aspects of clients’ businesses;
  • An entrepreneurial, proactive, and flexible approach;
