Job summary

Arboretica, based in the Netherlands near Rotterdam, seeks a senior algorithm developer to lead NLP and machine learning initiatives across research and client projects. You will shape technical direction, collaborate with data analysts, and contribute to client discussions with NGOs and environmental agencies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., statistics, data science, or other related degree).
• 5 years of experience in machine learning, predictive modeling and other related data science research work.
• Strong understanding of natural language processing (NLP) is a must.
• Programming in Python a must.
• Strong analytical skills with a “can-do” spirit.

Responsibilities

• Lead algorithm development for research or client-facing topics.
• Organize and conduct model training, testing and other ML activities.
• Present publicly both internally and externally about our latest technical research.
• Collaborate with external research partners and counterparts.
