EPEX SPOT is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to design, develop, and evolve our cloud‑native Data Platform on Google Cloud Platform. You will combine hands‑on engineering with technical leadership to deliver scalable, AI‑ready data products that empower analytics and business operations.

You will coach Data Engineers, drive engineering excellence, and collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Data Analysts and Data Scientists in an Agile environment to ensure governance, reliability, and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering.
Proven experience building and operating cloud‑native data platforms.
Strong hands‑on with Google Cloud data services and data governance.
Experience coaching and mentoring data engineers in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and continuously improve enterprise‑scale data pipelines and products.
Lead and mentor the Data Platform team; conduct code and design reviews.
Ensure platform reliability, security, and cost efficiency; drive DevOps/DataOps practices.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Data Analysts/Scientists, and security teams.
Enable self‑service analytics and governance with scalable data products.
