Job summary

MSD Animal Health Nederland in Boxmeer is seeking an Associate Director, Method Transfers (Bioassays). This leadership role focuses on centralizing and strengthening analytical method transfer capabilities for Large Molecules across the EU/APAC network.

You will lead the Bio Method Transfer team, partner with R&D, QC and other stakeholders to drive robust transfer execution, ensure right-first-time release, and guide complex multi-site transfers with risk management and governance input.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Analytical Sciences, or related discipline.
• Extensive pharma/biotech analytics experience for large molecules (bioassays, vaccines).
• Hands-on large-molecule QC methods: ELISA, PCR, cell culture, virus titration.
• Proven people leadership including coaching, performance and change management.
• Strong leadership, entrepreneurship and stakeholder management.
• Negotiation and influencing skills to harmonize competing priorities.
• Strong data analysis with statistical software (e.g., Minitab, Aera) and root-cause analysis.
• Excellent project management, communication, and collaboration across cross-site teams.
• Fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Lead Bio Method Transfer team and manage regional projects including budgets and headcount.
• Oversee complex multi-site method transfers and risk assessments.
• Partner with R&D during early assay development to ensure transfer readiness.
• Define strategy for analytical transfers and readiness for QC labs.
• Ensure transfer plans with timelines, documentation, and compliance.
• Coach and develop the Bio Method Transfer team.
• Collaborate with QA, R&D and external partners to align on readiness.
