Job summary

Everox is transforming waste concrete into sustainable building materials in Rotterdam. We seek an Automation Engineer to own our control software across the Rotterdam pilots, ’s-Gravendeel facility, and future plants.

You will bring in-house programming, define a modular standard using EcoStruxure Automation Expert, and collaborate with system integrators. Based in Rotterdam with on-site work and travel across Europe; early phase requires two on-site days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or related field.
• 7+ years of experience designing and programming PLC/SCADA systems in process/manufacturing.
• Strong IEC 61131-3 programming skills with modular software approach.
• Experience commissioning and troubleshooting control systems on site.
• Solid knowledge of industrial networks; ability to troubleshoot.
• Working knowledge of variable frequency drives.
• Experience coordinating with system integrators and equipment suppliers.
• Fluent English; Dutch is a plus.
• Valid driving license and willingness to work on site in ’s-Gravendeel two days/week initially.
• Willingness to travel internationally for FAT/SAT and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Own the automation across everox facilities and pilots to flagship plants and product lines.
• Build and maintain a standard library of reusable software modules for equipment and units.
• Define the control concept and architecture for containerised products from concept to design.
• Review automation scope of flagship plants and lead or support FAT/SAT and commissioning.
• Act as technical counterpart to Schneider Electric and system integrators; push in-house programming.
• Make process data available for analysis and digital twin development with IT partners.
• Set up software version control, backups, and documentation standards; contribute to design reviews and hazops.
