Job summary

TU Delft is seeking an Archaeological Remote Sensing Specialist to develop novel Machine Learning methods for extracting hidden archaeological information from vast remote sensing data. You will lead the contribution of TU Delft within the MAPHSA project, coordinate with partners, publish results, and supervise staff and students.

The role includes fundraising and educational activities within the Department. You will work with Dr.

Qualifications

PhD in Archaeology and knowledge of pre-Columbian archaeology.
Working knowledge of state-of-the-art Machine Learning.
Proven experience with different remote sensing acquisition methods, including LIDAR and spectral remote sensing.
Able to efficiently process large data sets.
Fluent in Spanish and English in speaking and writing.
Proven capabilities in acquiring research funding.
Experience in education, notably in supervising educational research projects, including BSc, MSc and PhD thesis projects.
Experience in project coordination.

Responsibilities

Develop methodology to identify and interpret sparse information in massive remote sensing data sets of South America.
Lead the TU Delft contribution within the MAPHSA project.
Coordinate with project partners and communicate results via publications.
Supervise staff and students and contribute to funding and educational activities.
Contribute to the funding and educational activities of the Department.
