VPS provides Testing and Inspection services globally to the maritime industry and is the clear market leader in its niche end market. VPS operates on a global basis with services provided through one of its five laboratories which are supported by an international network of commercial and technical advisory teams. The VPS Head Office is in the Netherlands (Barendrecht) with other locations in Singapore, Houston, Fujairah and UK.

Purpose of the Role

One of VPS' core activities is conducting quantitative inspections of marine fuels. These activities are carried out by employees of the Lab department led by the Lab Manager.

The function

As a Lab Technician you will primarily perform the following activities:

• Unpacking the samples
• Preparing samples for analysis
• Testing, analyse and report.

You follow the entire process in accordance with the requirements in the VPS Code of Practice

Reporting Line & Location

Reports to the Lab Supervisor with no direct reports

Based in Barendrecht

Knowledge & Skills

• You have at least a completed MBO course level 3 (chemistry)

• Experience (at least 1 year) in the position of Lab Technician (internal ship is oaky)

• Good command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing

• You can communicate well and are patient

• Living in the vicinity of Rotterdam and willing to shift work
