Job summary

QuantWare is seeking a Laboratory Operations & Safety Officer to lead the safe operation of its labs and new cleanroom facilities. You will own procedures, coordinate RI&E activities, and ensure compliance with EHS requirements while supporting audits and continuous safety improvements.

You will work closely with Health & Safety, R&D, Facilities and Operations teams in a fast-growing environment, focusing on scalable processes and effective training across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years in Cleanroom facilities Operations, EHS, QHSE, Laboratory Operations or similar enviroment.
• Experience developing and implementing laboratory or cleanroom operational procedures and work instructions.
• Experience conducting or coordinating RI&E, risk assessments, workplace inspections and incident investigations.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety, hazardous chemicals, SDS, chemical compatibility and applicable EHS legislation.
• Experience supporting audits, regulatory inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong organisational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced scale-up environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication across R&D, Operations, Facilities and external suppliers.
• A proactive, hands-on and solution-oriented mindset for scalable processes and continuous improvement.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Experience in semiconductor/high-tech or cleanroom environment is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate laboratory and cleanroom operations including procurement, inventory, asset tracking and maintenance.
• Develop and improve laboratory and cleanroom procedures, work instructions and support processes.
• Support the Health & Safety Officer in EHS management, RI&E coordination, hazard identification and risk assessments.
• Develop and implement safe working procedures for handling chemicals, gases and high-risk processes.
• Manage laboratory chemical safety programmes including SDS administration and waste management.
• Assist audits, inspections and regulatory compliance, maintaining EHS documentation and KPIs.
• Coordinate onboarding and safety training for laboratory and cleanroom staff, support emergency preparedness.
