Job summary

The University of Amsterdam's DATAGOV Living Lab seeks a proactive Lab Manager to coordinate workshops, experiments and data collection, and to shape public engagement with AI infrastructures and governance research.

You will work with researchers, artists and civil society partners, design participatory formats, manage logistics and documentation, and contribute to reporting and dissemination of the project’s findings.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with participatory, play-based or game-based research methods.
• Experience with arts-based methods and public engagement.
• Ability to manage multiple activities, deadlines and collaborators.
• Comfortable in interdisciplinary settings and able to facilitate diverse groups.
• Willing to lead when required and communicate about technical topics.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Lab's workshop programme, experiments and data collection and public events.
• Design and facilitate participatory, play-based research activities.
• Support arts-based research and public engagement with artists and practitioners.
• Translate research questions into engaging experimental formats for the Lab.
• Coordinate collaborations with partners including public institutions and civil society.
• Support experiments involving digital technologies and AI applications.
• Manage logistics, budgets, scheduling, and documentation.
• Document activities and contribute to reporting and dissemination.
