The Rijksmuseum invites applications for a junior conservator to join the Conservation & Science department. You will help care for the textile and dress collection, carry out conservation tasks, prepare objects for exhibitions, and support loan processes.

You will work with a team of conservators and curators, research-related projects, and strengthen ties with vocational schools to exchange knowledge.

Formación

• MA in conservation of paper/textile/glass & ceramics conservation.
• Experience with condition checks and writing condition reports.
• Experience with preparing transport, installing and de-installing for exhibitions.
• Proficiency in Dutch or English, both oral and written.
• Excellent communication and willingness to exchange knowledge with vocational schools.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor the physical condition of the textile and dress collection in collaboration with colleagues.
• Perform conservation work on recent acquisitions and related research.
• Assess condition, perform conservation work and document objects for exhibitions.
• Mount dress and related items for photography and display.
• Contribute to (scientific) research and conservation projects.
• Strengthen collaboration with vocational training schools and exchange knowledge.
