As a Junior System Administrator, you’ll support the Senior System Administrator in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our internal systems, networks, and hardware.
You’ll assist with daily operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation while continuously developing your technical skills in a collaborative and dynamic environment. Responsibilities:
- Support the management and maintenance of Windows and Linux servers and colleagues ;
- Assist with hardware and software troubleshooting;
- On-site hardware maintenance, server rack management, and replacing/installing equipment when required
- Help with license management and automating daily tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Python, and Ansible
- Maintain and administer MS SQL and PostgreSQL databases, as well as Synology NAS clusters
- Ensure a smooth working experience for colleagues using MS Office, Remote Desktop, VPN, and other applications;
- Support Active Directory, Hyper‑V, VMware environments, and network maintenance;
- Maintain and administer Zabbix system monitoring;
- Collaborate with the internal IT team and external support to optimize and maintain the infrastructure;
- Contribute ideas and improvements for internal IT processes, including learning and assisting with greenfield projects (Git, GitLab CI/CD, GitOps/FluxCD, Kubernetes, LGTM) and our future hybrid cloud evolution (AWS / Azure) (Growth Opportunity)
- This is a full-time, office-based position. Due to the hands‑on nature of the role, daily presence at the office is required.
What You'll Bring

- Service-oriented and solution-driven mindset;
- Basic knowledge of Windows/Linux Server (such as Ubuntu), Windows clients, licensing, and basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
- Experience with or a strong interest in SQL databases (MS SQL, PostgreSQL) and Synology NAS administration
- Familiarity with MS Suite, Remote Desktop, Cisco VPN, and general end‑user software;
- Understanding of Active Directory, Hyper‑V, VMware, and networking (experience with Cisco is a plus);
- Experience with financial sector software, such as Bloomberg or Refinitiv Eikon, is a plus;
- Eagerness to learn modern automation, GitOps, CI/CD, containers (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and cloud technologies.
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting systems such as Zabbix would be advantageous;
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure;
- A proactive and eager‑to‑learn attitude;
- To be considered for this position, you must be residing in the Netherlands;
- Dutch‑speaking is preferred.
