AWL in the Netherlands near Harderwijk seeks a Junior PLC Control Engineer to develop, implement and test software for customer-specific intralogistics solutions. You will work on control software for conveyors, shuttles, sorting systems and robotic applications in multidisciplinary project teams, taking on coordinating and advisory roles within projects.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field.
• Experience in industrial automation and/or machine building, preferably in logistics or intralogistics, with PLC programming knowledge (Siemens/Allen Bradley).
• Affinity with C#, Python or similar languages and willingness to learn more languages.
• Ambition to expand toward Robot and AI vision alongside PLC programming.
• AffinitY with complex logistics processes and automated systems.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
• Candidates should live in the Netherlands within commuting distance of Harderwijk; relocation not offered.

What do we expect

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Control Engineering, or a related field;
• Experience in industrial automation and/or machine building, preferably in a logistics or intralogistics environment, with knowledge of PLC programming and industrial control systems (including Siemens and Allen Bradley);
• Affinity with C#, Python or similar programming languages and a willingness to further develop in other programming languages. Interest in working on diverse projects and the ability to switch flexibly between different technical challenges;
• Ambition to broaden your field of expertise, for example towards Robot and AI vision alongside PLC programming;
• Affinity with complex logistics processes and automated systems;
• Willingness to travel, both nationally and internationally;
• For this position, we are looking for candidates who already live in the Netherlands and within commuting distance of our office in Harderwijk. Given the nature of the role and our focus on building long-term employment relationships, we are currently not offering relocation support.

About this vacancy

As a Junior PLC Control Engineer, you will develop, implement and test software for customer-specific intralogistics solutions. You will work on control software for, among other things, conveyors, shuttles, sorting systems, and robotic applications, all of which together ensure an optimally functioning logistics process.

You will be part of multidisciplinary project teams and work closely with colleagues from other disciplines, such as Robot Programmers. In addition to software development, you will have an important coordinating and advisory role within projects.

Within our Business Unit Intralogistics, we are working to take automation in warehouses and distribution centers to the next level. In a market where speed, efficiency, and flexibility are becoming increasingly important, we use automated robots and vision technology to make logistics processes more efficient, faster, and smarter. As a Junior PLC Control Engineer, you play a key role in this.
