Fullwood develops, builds and services robotic milking and farm technology systems for dairy farmers worldwide, giving farmers the reliability and flexibility they need to run efficient, sustainable operations while keeping cow comfort and welfare front of mind.
As a Junior Mechanical Engineer at Fullwood, you apply your engineering fundamentals to the design and development of our milking and farm technology products, under the guidance of a Teamlead Mechanical Engineering. You translate technical challenges into concrete mechanical solutions - from initial concept through to working prototype - and interact with colleagues across Product Management, Automation, Production and Purchasing to get there. You learn the trade in practice - starting with well-defined assignments and growing towards independent design work - supported by experiences colleagues and with plenty of room to develop quickly.
You are involved throughout the entire design process, and your responsibilities grow as your experience does. Essential parts of the role:
You report to the Teamlead Mechanical Engineering. You join a team consisting of a Mechanical Engineer and an Automation Engineer, working closely together in a pleasant, informal atmosphere. This role has no supervisory responsibilities; it’s a great next step for someone who wants to grow their design skills with senior engineers close at hand.
Required
A completed bachelor’s (HBO) degree, complemented by knowledge of mechanical engineering: 0 - 5 years of relevant practical experience welcome (recent graduates included).
Basis knowledge of mechanical design, with an affinity for CAD software such as Inventor or SolidWorks, and PDM software.
Able to apply a working knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of mechanical engineering, with an understanding of related engineering fields.
Good hands-on abilities for building and assembling mechanical components and prototypes.
Good communication, organisational and technical writing skills; a good command of English, spoken and written.
You are curious, eager to learn, think in solutions, work accurately and in a structured way, and enjoy collaborating in a team.
Work experience in robotics and/or a technical product environment.
An affinity for agricultural technology.
