Job summary

HD+VK Designers is seeking an independent, hands-on interior designer who can manage several projects at once and deliver high-end concepts. You will contribute to documentation and present designs to clients, translating ideas into practical, aesthetic solutions.

Fluent Dutch and comfortable English are required, along with a university degree in Architecture or Interior Design and 3–7 years of relevant experience. A dynamic, international environment awaits with opportunities for growth.

Job description

At HD+VK, we design and create inspiring spaces for all voices. We’re a small and young interior design studio with a focus on designing extraordinary international projects such as hotels, holiday parks, offices, gyms, restaurants and bars. We work for MARRIOTT, IHG, Conscious Hotels, NSI, Greystar, Landal, Sportcity and MEDIAPARK among others.

We have a context-driven design approach. Bold materials, patterns and smart solutions help us create human-centered environments. Rather than sticking to one style, we love inventing and reinventing design languages.

As our firm grows rapidly, we are managing multiple international projects simultaneously. We are looking for someone who can work independently, manage and design several projects at the same time.

In addition, it’s important the projects are designed at a high aesthetic level and that you will proactively ensure this kind of level during the execution of the project. You will contribute to the documentation of the final design and you will present this design to our clients.

Skills needed for this role:

• Your education is architecture or interior design at university level
• 3-7 years of work experience in a similar position
• Experience with design processes and maintaining client relations
• Experience in graphic design and graphic design tools
• Fluent in Dutch, and also comfortable working in English
• Ablility to think conceptually and translate ideas into practical solutions
• Strong communication skills with a sensibility for commerce
• Self-driven and outspoken, with a collaborative mindset
• Ambitious inquisitive nature with a sense of humour, connected to current developments
• Good planning skills and the ability to keep an overview of multiple projects
• Dynamic – hands-on with practical insight. DIY experience is highly appreciated
• Have an affinity with sports, wellness & leisure

Technical expertise:

• Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCad and D5.
• Skilled in Adobe Suite (mainly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)
• Preferably we are looking for someone with good graphical design skills and interest
• Strong general computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
• In possession of a driver’s license (category B)
