Job summary

Huxley is seeking a Junior Buyer to join its European Buying team in Amsterdam. The assignment runs from 1 December to 31 March with a possibility of extension, offering exposure to cross-functional teams in a fast-paced international fashion retail environment.

You will support seasonal buying activities, product analysis, assortment planning and in-season trading decisions, leveraging strong Excel skills and a keen eye for fashion trends.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in Buying, Merchandising, Planning or a similar retail-focused role.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and product data.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.
• Strong interest in fashion, retail and consumer trends.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, hands-on and confident working independently.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Support the end-to-end seasonal buying process, including assortment planning and order placement.
• Analyse sales, stock and product performance data to support commercial decision-making.
• Work closely with Planning teams to identify opportunities and optimise product performance.
• Prepare reports, presentations and seasonal buying materials; support product range reviews and assortment recommendations.
• Gather market, competitor and store feedback to support buying decisions.
• Coordinate samples and support day-to-day buying operations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Buying, Planning, Merchandising and Retail.
