Job summary

Lightyear in Venray is seeking a Junior Electronics Engineer to support validation and performance testing of our power converters, enabling a deep understanding of hardware, embedded software, and control algorithms.

You will design custom test setups, build PCBs for tests, write Python scripts to automate data logging, and collaborate with senior engineers to diagnose issues and improve converter behavior.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electronics Engineering.
• Strong foundational knowledge of power electronics.
• Proficiency in PCB design for test setups (Altium or KiCad).
• Experience with hardware debugging and instrumentation.
• Experience with PCB and system level troubleshooting.
• Experience with embedded software debugging (C, C++, or Rust).
• Scripting/automation experience.
• Basic understanding of control systems in power electronics or similar.
• Able to act as a technical bridge between hardware, embedded software, and control engineering.

Responsibilities

• Validate and performance test power converters in the lab.
• Design and build test setups and validation boards (PCBs).
• Write automation scripts for data acquisition.
• Analyze anomalies to identify root causes and differentiate hardware vs software.
• Collaborate with engineers to refine controller strategies and converter performance.
