Human Data Associates is hiring a Junior Data Scientist to join our Amsterdam-based team. You will use machine learning to automate advanced marketing insights and work on end-to-end data projects.

The role requires 0–3 years of experience, strong statistics and programming skills, and the ability to work with big data tools. An informal startup environment and opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Master/PhD in CS, AI, math, astrophysics, or neuroscience.
• 0–3 years professional experience.
• Strong stats, probability, and ML fundamentals.
• Fluent in R, Python, C++, or Java.
• Experience with SQL databases.
• Experience with EMR, Spark, Flink, H2O, TensorFlow, or ML platforms.
• Data visualization skills.
• Attention to detail and ownership of end-to-end work.
• Self-learning attitude and curiosity.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interrogate large and complex behavioural data sets that do not fit into memory of a single machine.
• Select features, build and optimize classifiers using machine learning techniques.
• Develop statistical models for advanced marketing insights and bring them in production.
• Assist with the design and hands-on rollout of prototype systems for implementation.
• Expand choice of analytical techniques used.
• Develop data acquisition tooling in Java, scripts etc.
