Jobbeschreibung

Location: Restaurant A Beautiful Mess, Arnhem | Start Date: Jan. 2, 2027 | 32 hours, spread over 4 days | Contract: 7 months (with the possibility of extension)

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

You’ll build a network of employers in and around Arnhem where people with refugee backgrounds can find paid, long-term employment. You’ll speak the language of employers, share the Refugee Company story, address concerns, and work collaboratively with both employers and participants. In addition, you’ll serve as a coach for a group of participants in Refugee Company’s Re-Start program. You understand their talents and know what they need to successfully settle into their new job. Placing a participant in a paid job is the icing on the cake for you: it makes tangible how you’ve been able to support someone in building a life in the Netherlands.

WHO ARE WE?

Refugee Company supports people with refugee backgrounds in becoming socially and economically independent. We do this through a personalized approach centered on trust, talent development, and community. Together with our social enterprise, A Beautiful Mess, we offer work-study programs and work experience in environments where connection and growth come naturally.

In our cafés and restaurants, people with refugee backgrounds work alongside people who have lived in the Netherlands for some time. This is how we build inclusive teams and communities where everyone feels seen and welcome and is given the space to grow. With locations in Amsterdam, Utrecht, and Arnhem, we have now helped more than a thousand people find work, pursue education, or take further steps toward their future.

Employers and Job Placement
  • You will build a diverse network of employers in and around Arnhem and maintain those contacts, even after placement.
  • You share the story of Refugee Company and address employers’ concerns about language, culture, risks, work permits, and administrative procedures.
  • You work with employers and participants to identify suitable positions and ensure a good match.
  • You prepare participants for job interviews and support them during the onboarding process.
  • You are responsible for placing trainees with employers: matching them with employers, preparing them for their placements, and establishing mutual expectations.
  • You ensure a smooth start so that the employer and the trainee know what to expect from each other.
  • You stay on top of things: how are the trainee and the employer doing, and what is needed to make the placement a success?
  • You work toward establishing long-term partnerships.
Coaching at Re-Start
  • You will coach your own group of participants and conduct individual meetings regarding career guidance, credential evaluation, and personal circumstances.
  • You identify participants’ strengths and areas for development and ensure that each participant has a complete resume and is ready for the next step.
  • You identify requests for assistance and make targeted referrals (social map).
  • You help participants become more self-reliant.
General
  • You maintain clear records so that we can measure our impact.
  • You ensure that the objectives are achieved.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
  • You have a positive attitude, enjoy getting things done, and have a good understanding of people.
  • You are a proven networker, preferably with experience in employer outreach and job placement.
  • You speak the language of employers: professional, concrete, and persuasive, without using social services jargon.
  • You have experience coaching and mentoring people, preferably those with a refugee background.
  • You are familiar with the Arnhem region, the job market, and the education system in the Netherlands, or you can quickly familiarize yourself with them.
  • You are the link between the employer and the participant: you have a good sense of what one is looking for and what the other has to offer.
  • You work independently, maintain a clear overview, and turn needs into action.
  • You speak and write Dutch fluently, have a good command of English, and preferably know another language as well.
  • You have a hands-on approach and a solution-oriented mindset.
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
  • A unique and international work environment where you can make an immediate impact.
  • Opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  • Flexibility and freedom to do your job.
  • A dynamic, innovative, and creative team.
  • Terms of employment in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Social Work, Welfare, and Social Services (8% vacation pay, 8.3% IKB, 20 vacation days [full-time], pension contributions, a laptop, and travel allowance if you live more than 10 km from work).

Please apply by November 13, 2026. The first interviews will take place online on November 19, and the second round will be held on Tuesday, November 24, at A Beautiful Mess (Rozet) in Arnhem. Please keep this in mind if you decide to apply.
