Job summary

Adyen, the payments platform, is seeking a Software Engineer I (Java) for the Invoicing & Collections team in Amsterdam. You will help drive end-to-end invoice generation and related financial operations in a large-scale, regulated environment.

You will work with Java, REST APIs, Web Services and SQL, delivering reliable software while collaborating with a cross-functional team. 2–5 years of experience and English proficiency required; Amsterdam office-based, no remote roles.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java, Web Services, REST APIs and SQL/ PostgreSQL in a distributed system.
• Able to work in a cross-functional team with product and data science.
• Familiar with large-scale invoice generation or billing systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monthly Invoice Generation: own end-to-end monthly cycle for invoices.
• Customer Financial Operations: handle distribution, deductions, and dunning.
• Compliance and Flexibility: ensure regulatory and tax compliance across markets.
• System Development and Migration: maintain and evolve the invoice engine and contribute to next-gen platform.
