Job summary

Adyen is looking for a Software Engineer (Java) to join the Identity & Verification Services team in Amsterdam. You will own features from design to deployment and live monitoring, contributing to our trusted identity platform.

You will design scalable services, work with cross-functional teams, implement observability, SLOs, and robust alerting, and help evolve the onboarding and verification capabilities for customers.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Java with web services and REST APIs.
• Experience building scalable distributed systems.
• Proficient in SQL/PostgreSQL and database usage.
• Operates with monitoring best practices, SLOs, and resilience.
• Ownership mindset and proactive collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable distributed systems for identity & verification.
• Develop and maintain Java-based services with deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with product, onboarding, operations, and regulatory teams.
• Contribute to platform framework for onboarding and identity verification.
• Implement observability and alerting; ensure system health.
