Job summary

Channable in Utrecht is seeking a hands-on IT Manager to bridge business needs with reliable IT solutions. You will mentor a team of 3 IT Engineers, plan workloads, and collaborate with DevOps to maintain secure, scalable infrastructure.

You bring 5+ years IT, 2+ years in supervision, strong Windows/MacOS knowledge, security practices, and a pragmatic, people-oriented mindset. The role is hybrid with a Utrecht presence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT experience with at least 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Deep knowledge of Windows and MacOS environments, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Strong coordination, communication, and crisis management skills.
• Good understanding of Security & Compliance practices.
• Fluent in English with ability to translate business needs to technical terms.

Responsibilities

• Plan, delegate, and prioritize IT workload.
• Mentor and coach team members, provide performance feedback and development opportunities.
• Tackle technical challenges with the team.
• Maintain documentation for automations and IT processes.
• Support and plan rollout of new tools and devices with smooth adoption by end-users.
• Liaise on high-impact issues with stakeholders and teams.
• Plan and review OKRs.
• Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.

Job description

Your impact:

You will be the strategic bridge who translates business needs into reliable IT solutions. Together with a skilled team of 3 IT Engineers, you will plan and set the future tracks of our IT infrastructure and collaborate with our DevOps team to ensure a secure, reliable, and scalable IT environment. It does not involve supporting our clients.

What you bring to the team:

• You’re fluent in the English language as well as "business" to "tech" and can translate vice versa
• You have at least 5+ years of experience within the area of IT and at least 2+ years of experience in a supervisory role
• You have deep knowledge of Windows and MacOS environments, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues
• Solid coordination, communication, and crisis management skills
• Good understanding of common Security & Compliance practices

What you will do:

• Plan, delegate, and prioritize our general IT workload
• Mentor and coach team members, providing performance feedback and identifying opportunities for professional development and skill building
• Dive into technical challenges alongside the team
• Keep a good overview of our automations and make sure information is well documented
• Support & plan the rollout of new tools, devices, and processes, ensuring smooth adoption by our end-users
• Liaise on issues with large(r) impact with team members, departments, and stakeholders
• Planning and reviewing OKRs
• Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers, ensuring contracts meet organizational needs and cost objectives

• You bring some experience with Project- and Service management
• You are not afraid of tackling larger projects and know how to break them down into smaller, achievable milestones
• You have experience with structuring/restructuring teams to improve efficiency and ensure the right talent is in the right "gear" for the best output.
• You have an eye for improving workflows and processes to eliminate friction and waste.

The logistics:

• Commitment: Minimum 32 to 40 hours per week.
• Location: Hybrid workspace (minimum 2 days a week in our Utrecht office).
• Right to work: Valid work permit for the Netherlands or EU citizenship required.
