Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking an IT Cloud Consulting Engineer to design, build, and optimize enterprise-grade software solutions for global clients. The role bridges architecture with hands-on implementation, delivering secure, scalable applications within agile squads.

You will modernize codebases, drive automation, and champion engineering excellence across the software development lifecycle, with a focus on time‑to‑market and reliability.

Qualifications

• Extensive professional hands-on software development experience using modern enterprise programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, or Go).
• Proven track record architecting and deploying microservices, RESTful APIs, or event-driven applications in production environments.
• Deep understanding of object-oriented design, architectural patterns, SOLID principles, and domain-driven design (DDD).
• Demonstrated experience with containerisation technologies and orchestration platforms, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on proficiency with modern DevOps toolchains, version control (Git), and automated CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins).
• Strong experience designing and optimizing relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) data stores.
• Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting abilities with strong cross-functional communication and team mentorship skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, write, and maintain robust, high‑performance, and secure application code in line with enterprise design standards.
• Champion modern software engineering practices, including Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and microservices design patterns.
• Build, automate, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, zero‑downtime releases.
• Lead test automation strategies—spanning unit, integration, and end‑to‑end testing—to maximize software stability and code quality.
• Partner with technical architects, product owners, and client stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable technical deliverables.
• Identify and eliminate technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and system vulnerabilities through systematic refactoring and code reviews.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level software developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, technical craftsmanship, and shared ownership.

In this role, you will bridge strategic architectural concepts and hands‑on implementation, delivering secure, resilient, and highly scalable applications that solve complex business and operational challenges.

Collaborating within modern agile delivery squads, you will work alongside cloud architects, platform engineers, and cross‑functional technology leaders to modernize codebases, drive automation, and champion engineering excellence.
