Qualifications

• Expertise in implementatie en onderhoud van monitoring in een distributed setup (Checkmk, Nagios, ELK).
• Expertise in Cloud monitoring (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• IT-infrastructu technologies: OS, Storage, Virtualisatie (VMware, Hyper-V), databases, backups.
• Diepe kennis van monitoring via SNMP polling/traps, logs en APIs.
• Troubleshooting van monitors/service checks in de betreffende tooling.
• Kennis van scripting - PowerShell, Python, Bash.
• Basiskennis van AIOps-platforms (Moogsoft/APEX, ServiceNow).
• Inzicht in prioriteren op basis van ernst.
• Goede communicatieve vaardigheden over meerdere locaties wereldwijd.

Responsibilities

• Ontwerpen, implementeren en optimaliseren van infra- monitoring en observability-oplossingen.
• Configureren en onderhouden van monitoring-platforms, metrics, dashboards en alerts.

In the role of Infrastructure Monitoring Expert, you will have the opportunity to deliver holistic monitoring capabilities by gathering and analyzing operational status information, with a strong focus on maximizing user experience and productivity. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance and optimize the current monitoring landscape while ensuring alignment with Observability standards, frameworks, and policies.

The role is responsible for enabling proactive and efficient monitoring and alerting across complex infrastructure environments. You will work closely with internal IS Observability teams, Domain Hosting teams, and Business Areas to define, configure, and implement relevant metrics and monitoring solutions.

As a key technical expert with strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, you will leverage your expertise to improve organizational effectiveness, drive operational excellence, and support the organization's vision and strategic objectives.

The work model for the role is: hybrid

• Design, implement, and optimize infrastructure monitoring and observability solutions.
• Configure and maintain monitoring platforms, metrics, dashboards, and alerting mechanisms.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and business stakeholders to ensure effective monitoring coverage.
• Analyze monitoring effectiveness and drive automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical expertise, consultation, and governance for infrastructure monitoring services.
• Maintain monitoring standards, documentation, and compliance with organizational policies and processes.
• Engage with stakeholders and suppliers to deliver service improvements and enhance operational visibility.
• Support organizational objectives by improving system reliability, performance, and user experience.

Qualifications for the role

• Expertise in implementation and maintenance of monitoring solutions in a distributed setup (e.g. Checkmk, Nagios, ELK, etc.).
• Expertise in Cloud monitoring and services (MS Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Expertise in IT Infrastructure technologies: OS, Storage, Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), databases, backup solutions etc.
• Expertise in Cloud monitoring and services (MS Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Deep understanding of monitoring via SNMP polling / traps, logs and APIs.
• Troubleshooting experience related to monitors / service checks setup in the tool for respective technologies.
• Good scripting knowledge - PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.
• Basic working knowledge of AIOps platform (Moogsoft / APEX, BigPanda, ServiceNow).
• Ability to organize and prioritize the task based on the severity.
• Ability to manage, control, monitor, and apply best practices on the infrastructure monitoring.
• Good communication skills as the audience is spread out globally.
