Job description

Internship - Global Indirect Procurement

Location:Amsterdam, Netherlands

Function:Procurement

“This internship puts you at the heart of a global procurement transformation: you’ll use data to uncover opportunities and see how your insights translate into real decisions across markets.”

The internship

Join HEINEKEN Global Procurement Team and help shape a more transparent and effective supplier ecosystem for Indirect Procurement. Through supplier and spend analytics, you will contribute to the global Vendor Consolidation programme, turning complex data into clear insights that support better decisions across categories and markets.

Working closely with Procurement Excellence / Procurement Transformation, you will build fact bases, identify patterns and develop analytical hypotheses for review by experienced Procurement stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyse supplier and spend data across Categories, Regions and OpCos, including data cleansing, reconciliation and quality checks.
  • Prepare Category × OpCo supplier-landscape views and identify fragmentation, concentration and data-quality patterns.
  • Maintain the Vendor Consolidation opportunity pipeline, programme tracker, actions, dependencies and key inputs.
  • Map preferred suppliers by category, geography and scope, and connect them to available contracts and buying channels.
  • Track supplier creation, supplier exits, exceptions, spend migration and adoption to highlight trends and gaps.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reporting, translating analysis into concise, executive-ready presentations.
  • Collaborate with Global Category teams, Regional and local Procurement / OpCos, Digital Procurement / Data & Analytics and, where relevant, Finance, P2P and Master Data.
Your new team and workplace

Procurement Enablement helps translate Procurement strategy into scalable processes, analytics, governance and digital solutions across Global, Regional and local Procurement. You will work in an international, cross-functional environment and contribute to a more effective, data-driven supplier ecosystem. With structured guidance and progressively greater ownership, you will gain exposure to strategic Procurement topics, multiple Categories and markets, and the combination of analytics and business transformation.

During your internship, you’ll have every opportunity to get to know HEINEKEN as an organization, not just within your own team, but across departments. We trust and empower you to work with an entrepreneurial mindset. At HEINEKEN, we love bringing the outside world in and welcome fresh, new ideas with open arms. Of course, we’ll make sure you get the guidance that suits you.

Whatadayin theinternshipcouldlook like

You might start by reviewing programme priorities and open actions, then refresh a supplier or spend analysis and investigate an unexpected data pattern. Later, you could prepare a Category × OpCo view, join a discussion with a Global Category, Regional or OpCo stakeholder, or map preferred suppliers to contracts and buying channels. You will keep the opportunity tracker current, turn findings into a concise management slide and discuss questions or recommendations with your internship supervisor.

We believe everyone has unique talents, which is why we’re looking for you! Energy, drive and the ambition to grow are what make the difference at HEINEKEN. In addition, you bring:

  • You are enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme for the entire internship, preferably in Business Analytics, Business Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • You work in an analytical, structured and detail-oriented way and are confident using Excel and working with data.
  • You communicate clearly in written and spoken English and enjoy collaborating in an international environment.
  • You are curious, reliable and willing to investigate inconsistencies rather than accepting results at face value.
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Query or similar analytical tools is a plus, but not required; Procurement, Supply Chain, SQL, Python or international experience are also welcome.

Even if you feel you don’t meet all the criteria, we encourage you to apply. An internship is the perfect opportunity to learn and grow!
