Job summary

Damen Shipyards Group in Gorinchem is offering an internship in Event Management. You will assist Event Managers in planning, organizing and coordinating international conferences and exhibitions, ensuring Damen’s brand identity is strong at every event.

You will work closely with the marketing team, receive mentoring, and contribute to event strategy and digitized event pages. The role starts February 2027 and requires full-time availability in Gorinchem.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an event management or communications degree.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, manage and coordinate all types of events.
• Update event pages design with findings from research.

• Work closely with event managers; receive supervisory and support.
• Handle administrative tasks and assist with other Marketing Communications activities.

About us

The Marketing department is based in Gorinchem, the Netherlands, and is established for the entire Damen Shipyards Group and all its divisions and endorsed brands. It's an exciting time to join our Marketing team. New digital capabilities are expanding the possibilities of marketing campaigns in our B2B industry. As an intern for the Event Management team, you can play a role in expanding Damen as a brand within our industry and beyond.

The role

During the internship you will be planning, organizing, managing and coordinating all types of events, such as international conferences and exhibitions. You will make sure Damen's brand identity is well presented during every event. We are looking for a student that is able to take on this project from February 2027 onwards!

Key accountabilities

For all these different type of events, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, managing and coordinating them. Through researching new event and exhibition possibilities, you will work on the event strategy of Damen. You can apply these findings by updating the design for event pages as well, so a very practical outcome on the results you get! Supervisory and support will be given by the event managers, whom you will be working closely with. Administrative tasks can be delegated to you, as well as supporting other ongoing activities at the Marketing Communications department.

Skills & experience

At least several skills/experiences from the following list are required to be considered:

• You are an Associate Degree or Bachelor student, enrolled in an event management or communication study.
• You are social, representative and creative.
• Flexible and hands on mentality!
• Expert in planning and organizing.
• You are fulltime available, on our Gorinchem location.
• English and Dutch language skills are mandatory. Do not speak Dutch? Unfortunately we cannot take your profile into consideration.
