Internship – Connected Brewery Robotics Humanoid Team

Are you a student passionate about robotics with an entrepreneurial and creative mindset? Then this internship is for you!

The internship

We are looking for an entrepreneurial, hands‑on, and tech‑savvy intern to work on testing our humanoid robot, purchased to explore its capabilities and how we could potentially use them later when this technology becomes widely available. We maintain a close collaboration with our team in APAC Vietnam and their universities, fostering shared learning experiences and jointly assessing capabilities of our work. Engaging in regular communication with the Vietnam team will be essential for gaining insights and enhancing the learning experience.

Activities
  • You are forming team Asimov 3.0 together with another intern and will be responsible for the continuation of development on our Humanoid H, building on the foundations of the previous teams.
  • Creating a development roadmap together with the CB robotics team
  • Develop new features and use‑cases
  • Program, and demonstrate use‑case with robot to show its capabilities during events
  • Test our Humanoid H, utilizing the learnings and handover from the previous team
  • Collaborate with our other team in Vietnam and their universities
  • Presenting an overview of what has been accomplished and learnings at the end of the assignment as input for the next team.

This position is part of the Connected Brewery Product Portfolio. The Connected Brewery philosophy centers on intelligently supporting shop floor teams as their tasks become increasingly complex. By introducing innovative solutions, we unlock new opportunities and generate insights that were previously unattainable. Team Robotics operates with a startup mentality—developing, testing, and deploying robotic products globally across our breweries, collaborating with both internal and external partners. The team is experiencing rapid growth and has established its own Robotics Lab at the largest Heineken brewery in Europe, located in Zoeterwoude. Supported by the Pilot Robotics Brewery team Zoeterwoude, we are currently developing more than three robotic use‑cases at multiple locations worldwide.

  • Currently enrolled in a technical or business administration bachelor's or master's degree e.g., MSc Robotics in the Netherlands, Passionate about robotic technology and digital tools. You need to be located in The Netherlands for this internship.
  • Have basic experience with ROS2 and is comfortable programming in Python and C++
  • Basic knowledge in Perception, Machine Learning, Planning, Dynamics and Control

Conditions of HEINEKEN
  • You are enrolled at an educational institution for the entire duration of your internship and can provide proof of enrollment for the current academic year during your onboarding.
  • In the case of non‑EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution.
  • In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
  • You reside in the Netherlands for the entire duration of your internship. Please note that HEINEKEN does not provide housing.
  • You are in possession of a valid citizen service number (BSN).
Our Internship Conditions
  • A full‑time research internship, starting on September 1, 2026
  • The duration of the internship is 6 months (to be agreed upon with your internship supervisor)
  • We are looking for students who are already living in the Netherlands, due to the nature of the work which takes place in our development lab located in Zoeterwoude Brewery & Amsterdam Schiphol office
  • For this assignment, it is important to work in our labs 4 days per week, in which working 1 day from home is possible.
  • You will receive a monthly internship allowance of €650 gross based on a 40‑hour workweek
  • You will earn 2 vacation days per month (based on a full‑time internship)
  • If you do not have a public transport student subscription, your commuting costs will be fully reimbursed.
