Job summary

Alfa Laval Nijmegen B.V. is a market leader in gas treatment systems and services in the maritime industry. The International Marine Service Engineer will perform maintenance and commissioning on ships, travelling internationally to sites and aboard vessels as needed.

You will follow safety procedures, apply deep product knowledge, and prepare service jobs per SOPs. The role also involves training peers and customers, and identifying improvements for SOPs and new sales opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or technical degree with mechanical/electrical knowledge.
• Basic knowledge of PLC, process, measuring and control technology.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and commissioning on ships.
• Travel to service jobs, including international travel; may sail with vessel.
• Follow safety procedures and report unsafe practices/incidents.
• Provide formal training to peers and customers; help develop training materials.
• Document work and obtain signed service reports on board.
• Identify improvements and potential sales leads; provide input on SOP improvements.

About the job

You are responsible to perform maintenance and commissioning services on board of ships.

• Follow safety procedures and report unsafe practices & incidents.
• Show deep product knowledge of the key product line(s).
• Prepare the service job for efficient execution, based on the SOP of the job.
• Travel to service jobs on board vessels, including international travel. Sail with the vessel if needed.
• Execute maintenance, repair, advanced troubleshooting, commissioning or other services.
• Document work and conclusions while on board and get service report signed by the customer.
• Identify potential improvements incl. sales leads, give advice to customer and pass information on to own organization. Give input on SOP improvements.
• Provide formal training to peers and customers; assist in developing of training material and content.
