Job summary

bunq is seeking an Internal Auditor – Regulatory Compliance to strengthen our regulatory standing across markets. You will identify gaps, assess risk, and help build an audit infrastructure that keeps operations audit-ready.

You will design and execute multi-domain audits (AML/KYC, data protection, market conduct), track remediation with business teams, and translate complex regulations into actionable steps for regulators and leadership.

Qualifications

• Regulatory audit experience in AML/KYC, data protection (GDPR), or market conduct.
• Ability to perform risk-based audits, develop workpapers, and present findings to executives.
• Knowledge of banking regulators and how to navigate inquiries or examinations.
• Excellent written and spoken communication to translate regulations for business teams and regulators.
• English fluency; multilingualism is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cross-domain compliance audits across AML/KYC, data protection and market conduct.
• Build and execute an audit roadmap with remediation plans prioritized by risk.
• Drive remediation tracking with business teams to address root causes.
• Analyze regulatory changes and assess operational readiness across markets.
• Communicate findings to executives and regulators with clear, actionable recommendations.
