Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. invites a motivated student in their final year of a master or bachelor program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Life Sciences to join the Discovery and Technology Research team as an Intern – Formulation.

You will work on liposomal formulations for DNA vaccine delivery, perform physical-chemical characterization via DLS, and study DNA encapsulation efficiency with potential immunological assays for expanded projects.

Qualifications

• Analytical skills, data handling and reporting required.
• Familiarity with lipids, liposomes and nanoparticle concepts is desirable.
• Experience or coursework in cell biology/immunology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop liposomal formulations for DNA vaccine delivery.
• Characterize formulations using dynamic light scattering (DLS).
• Assess DNA encapsulation efficiency in liposomes.
• Evaluate transfection efficiency in cells with DNA-containing liposomes.
