Job summary

Improven seeks an Interim Business Controller to join a leading energy transition organisation. The role focuses on strengthening financial and operational control, developing management information, and improving governance and processes.

You will deliver financial models, forecasts, budgets and business cases to support strategic decisions and enhance audit readiness. The assignment is for about four months, starting in October 2026, with a 40-hour week and hybrid working.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ relevant experience in business control, finance or similar consultancy assignments.
• Proven experience with forecasts, budgets and financial modelling.
• Knowledge of accounting, cash flow and risk & control is an advantage.
• Excellent command of Dutch and English both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Develop financial models and scenario analyses providing insight into decisions, risks and interdependencies.
• Prepare and coordinate reports analysing results, variations and trends.
• Prepare forecasts, budgets and business cases to support decision-making.
• Support the annual accounts audit with reconciliation and audit response evidence.
• Develop and monitor KPIs and dashboards to track progress, risks and dependencies.
• Link financial information to operational, commercial and project developments.
• Strengthen governance, internal controls and audit trail.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in processes and information provision.
• Formulate recommendations for stakeholders based on analyses and findings.
