Job summary

Fugro is seeking an Innovation Engineer to lead the design and development of next‑generation uncrewed marine systems. You will translate operational requirements into practical vessel designs, perform stability, hydrodynamics and propulsion analyses, and coordinate with shipyards, class societies and suppliers for successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in naval architecture, marine technology or mechanical engineering.
• Experience in naval architecture, marine engineering or new‑build vessel projects.
• Familiarity with vessel operations and marine safety requirements.
• Ability to translate operational needs into practical engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of uncrewed vessels and marine systems from concept through build.
• Translate requirements into safe, reliable engineering solutions and vessel designs.
• Perform analyses including stability, hydrodynamics, propulsion and system performance.
• Prepare and review drawings, calculations and technical documentation for quality and compliance.
• Collaborate with shipyards, class societies, suppliers and internal teams to deliver projects.
• Support inspections, testing, and production activities to ensure readiness.
• Contribute to innovation and the development of standards, tools and best practices.
