At Vanderlande, we are looking for an Information Security Governance & Compliance Officer who will play a key role in strengthening our internal cybersecurity posture. In this position, you will help ensure that our IT organization operates in line with security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, while supporting teams in embedding security into their daily way of working.

This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional who combines governance expertise with a collaborative mindset and enjoys working with stakeholders across an international organization.

What will you be doing?

As an Information Security Governance & Compliance Officer, you will be part of the 1st Line Security function and act as the link between security governance and operational IT teams. You will support the adoption of security standards, monitor compliance, and drive continuous improvement across our IT landscape.

You will work closely with Product Owners, architects, technical specialists, and other stakeholders to ensure security requirements are understood, implemented, and consistently maintained.

Your responsibilities
  • Translate information security policies, governance requirements, and regulatory obligations into practical and sustainable operational processes.
  • Support IT and product teams in implementing and maintaining security controls within their daily activities.
  • Build awareness of security requirements and provide guidance to teams on governance and compliance topics.
  • Monitor compliance with established security controls, identify improvement opportunities, and support remediation activities.
  • Coordinate and maintain audit evidence and documentation required for internal and external assessments.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of security governance processes, control frameworks, and compliance practices.
What do we ask from you?

You bring a combination of information security expertise, stakeholder management skills, and a structured approach to governance and compliance.

Qualifications and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Management, Business IT, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Approximately 5–7 years of experience in information security governance, IT compliance, risk management, audit, or a related field.
  • Practical experience working with security and control frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or similar standards.
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits, including evidence collection and control validation.
  • Experience collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to integrate security controls into operational processes.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CGRC, CISM, Security+, or equivalent are considered an advantage.
Skills and competencies
  • Ability to translate governance requirements into clear and actionable guidance.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with a structured and process-focused approach.
  • Comfortable working with documentation, audit tooling, and compliance reporting.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch is beneficial, or you are willing to further develop your Dutch language skills.
