Job summary

Tasty Indian Bites Amsterdam is seeking an Independent working Chef-I to prepare lunch and dinner dishes from Indian cuisine, with mise en place and a focus on quality and safety. You will manage inventory and support kitchen staff, contributing ideas for menu updates.

Requirements include an MBO level 3 diploma, knowledge of basic cooking techniques, the ability to work independently, and strong teamwork. Dutch or English language skills are required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques.
• Ability to work independently.
• Can handle stress during peak busy periods.
• Functions well within a restaurant team.
• Speaks Dutch or English.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare lunch and dinner dishes from the Indian cuisine.
• Carry out mise en place and other preparatory tasks (cutting, mixing, portioning).
• Ensure the quality, taste, and presentation of all dishes.
• Apply and comply with HACCP and safety regulations.
• Manage inventory: ordering, receiving, and checking products.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and workspaces.
• Contribute ideas for recipes, menu updates, and more efficient processes.
• Support and manage the kitchen assistants.
