Job summary

Het Oosten, a Chinese restaurant in Oostzaan, seeks an Independent Working Chef Level I to join the kitchen team. You will prepare and present dishes under the head chef or owner and can manage the kitchen independently when needed.

Responsibilities include supervising assistants, stock management, and ensuring quality and hygiene. The role offers full-time hours (38/week) with a gross salary of €2,750–€3,250, and includes benefits such as training, relocation assistance, and travel allowance.

Qualifications

• You take independent initiative and act solution-oriented.
• Demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques.
• MBO-3 level work and thinking is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Select and prepare ingredients (washing, cutting, mixing).
• Conduct intermediate checks for doneness, taste and color and adjust as needed.
• Ensure consistent quality and hygiene in the kitchen.
• Supervise kitchen assistants and guide their work.
• Track stock levels, order ingredients and check deliveries.
• Clean the work environment, equipment and stations daily.
• Report faults and resolve minor issues.
• Contribute to menu composition, adjustments and methods.
