Job summary

Maastricht University seeks an Assistant Professor in Predictive Brain Processes to develop an independent, internationally visible research programme and contribute to the education programmes of the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience.

You will join the Cognitive Neuroscience (CN) department and lead research in predictive and inferential brain processes using experimental, computational or theoretical approaches, collaborating across MRI, EEG, and modelling methods.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field (Cognitive Psychology, Computational Neuroscience, Biomedical Sciences, Engineering, AI or related).
• Postdoctoral or equivalent research experience with strong publication record.
• Strong theoretical, computational and/or experimental expertise related to perception, cognition and predictive brain processes.
• Proven ability to secure research funding, individually or collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Develop an independent, internationally visible research programme in predictive brain processes.
• Contribute to education programmes of the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience.
• Lead research using experimental, computational or theoretical approaches; collaborate across MRI, EEG, and modelling methods.
• Supervise bachelor’s and master’s theses and contribute to teaching activities.
