Job summary

Maastricht University is seeking an Assistant Professor in Predictive Brain Processes to develop an independent research programme and contribute to the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience education. The CN department hosts about 60 permanent and ~70 temporary staff, working with MRI, EEG, psychophysics and computational models to study brain function.

You will teach in Brain Science courses, supervise theses, pursue external funding, and advance collaborative, interdisciplinary research in

Qualifications

• PhD in (Cognitive) Psychology, (Computational) Neuroscience, Biomedical Sciences or Engineering, AI or related field.
• Postdoctoral or equivalent research experience with strong publication record.
• Strong theoretical, computational and/or experimental expertise related to sensation, cognition and predictive brain processes.
• Ability or potential to secure competitive research funding, individually or collaboratively.
• Potential to build an independent, internationally visible research programme.

Responsibilities

• Develop an independent, internationally visible research programme in predictive brain processes.
• Contribute to education programmes within the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience.
• Lead innovative research using computational/theoretical or experimental approaches.
• Collaborate on external funding proposals and supervise student theses.
• Contribute to the open, inclusive research culture and interdisciplinary team science.
