Vanderlande in Veghel offers a graduation internship focused on improving energy performance estimation of Vanderlande systems. You will build a data-driven predictive model using operational data to estimate energy consumption, collaborating with the Sustainability and Energy Competence teams.
The project aims to enhance system designs, reduce emissions, and provide actionable recommendations for deployment across business processes.
Improving energy performance estimation of Vanderlande systems
At Vanderlande, we design and deliver complex automated handling systems for global airports and parcel logistics centers. These large-scale systems consist of dynamic, interconnected components operating simultaneously under varying speeds, power needs, and utilization patterns. Currently, accurately estimating total energy consumption is challenging due to these complex operational variables. Improving energy predictions is vital for optimizing system designs, helping customers make informed purchasing decisions, and reducing emissions from sold products.
In this high-impact graduation project, you will build a data-driven predictive model to estimate system energy performance based on operational conditions and system parameters. By gathering operational datasets, analyzing key energy drivers, and validating your model against real-world measured data, you will directly help Vanderlande design more energy-efficient logistics solutions.
You will join the global Sustainability team, working directly alongside the Energy Competence team within Technology. Our sustainability efforts touch multiple business areas, giving you the opportunity to collaborate closely with experts across R&D, Engineering, Sales, Finance, and Data Analytics.
