Job description

Wakuli. Impacting the world with exciting coffee.

Together with us, you're building the future of coffee. One that’s seriously good for drinkers, farmers and the planet. We buy our coffee directly from farmer groups around the world, freshly roast everything ourselves and serve all coffee straight to customers. Either online or in one of our bars. Doing it this way allows us to always pay farmers well, invest in fully regenerative coffee production and serve great coffee to people here.

In 2025 Wakuli presented our theory of change, describing what we do and how different pathways lead to the change we aim for in the coffee industry. This is Wakuli's Blueprint for Industry Change. It covers three main areas: customers, farmers and the planet. It is in those areas that we measure our impact.

Your role (full time 40h):

You will support the sourcing and impact team to gather data and roll out impact related activities in these three areas with an emphasis on farmer and planet:

Wakuli will roll out a brand new regenerative coffee model for measuring and improving farmer's income as well as biodiversity and soil health through regenerative practices. You will support the impact manager to roll out the reg ag model and apply it to all our partnerships and specifically to our running regenerative activities. You will manage the collection of data from field work as well as more generic data from all our partnerships.

Living income

Wakuli aims to close the living income gap that coffee farmers still experience in a lot of places. The information about what amounts to a living income is not always clear or even available. Despite that, Wakuli aims to define a clear approach regarding living income reference prices for the coffee we source, working in several programs and tapping from an expert network of consultants and NGO's with expertise. You will support with desk research, interviews and potential partnerships to get more grip on the theme of living income prices for green coffee paid to farmers.

We aim to revisit our "Responsible Business Conduct" risk assessment for all of our partnerships. You will support with setting up a template, doing desk research for each origin and interview our partners to verify and contextualise the assumptions from desk research.

You will continue developing our data management system to collect, archive and present impact related data from our partnerships and sourcing activities. The dashboard represents what Wakuli contributes to the afore-mentioned Blueprint for Industry Change and will serve as a source of truth throughout Wakuli. It should be accessible and understandable for all colleagues. The dashboard is the place where our pricing and sourcing data, our customer data and the data from our regenerative fieldwork as well as our risk assessments come together.

Besides these impact areas you will be part of a dynamic team where each day will bring surprises: last minute work, support within the impact team or in other areas of the organisation. This is what makes Wakuli an exciting place to work and requires flexibility and a "can-do" attitude from you.

About you
  • You are fluent in English
  • You are good at designing (tech) solutions to information problems
  • You are good at working with Excel and like to do analyses
  • You understand what are the basics of regenerative agriculture
  • You understand/have experience with international agricultural value chains
  • You are a number cruncher
  • You are flexible and open to do work based on what is needed at a given moment
  • You have Masters-level thinking skills
  • You are available for 6 months
What we offer.
  • The opportunity to make a difference in the world;
  • An internship fee of 500 euro per month based on full time;
  • Working from home flexibility (at least 50/50) and an inspiring workplace above the roastery
  • A lot of responsibilities and a steep learning curve
  • A chance to learn more about the coffee business and international supply chains
  • Talented international and impact driven colleagues with a great team spirit
