Job summary

NN Bank’s Shared Business Services (SBS) team is seeking a freelance software engineer to help build and maintain critical functionality across NN Group’s departments. You’ll work with Node.js, TypeScript and AWS, expanding capabilities in pre-existing applications while ensuring security controls are documented and compliant.

The position is hybrid, with office days in The Hague and Rotterdam, for five months.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Strong proficiency in full-stack development with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB) and serverless architectures.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps pipelines is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills in English (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Leverage Node.js, TypeScript and AWS to build or expand functionality in existing applications.
• Ensure compliance and security controls are implemented and documented.
• Contribute to product discovery, system design and stakeholder management.
• Support operations monitoring and observability efforts.
