Job summary

Avantor in Hillegom is seeking a Design Engineer to develop approval drawings and prototypes for single-use systems in the life sciences/biopharma sector. The role is full-time with a 1-year contract and a hybrid work setup allowing two days from home per week.

You will work with design engineers, account managers, production and quality to ensure products meet customer requirements, supported by MS Office, AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Biomedical Engineering.
• 2–3 years of design engineering experience in life sciences is preferred.
• Competency in developing drawings and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop basic and detailed approval drawings from sketches or descriptions.
• Select subcomponents and ensure connections meet functional specs (temp/pressure).
• Enter/maintain BOMs and MOM in ERP systems.
• Perform tests and create validation packets for customers.
• Collaborate with engineers, account managers, production and QA.
