Job summary

LANXESS Deutschland GmbH in Botlek, Rotterdam is seeking an experienced HSE Officer to safeguard and improve safety, health and environmental performance in our Seveso-regulated chemical production site. You will translate EU and Dutch regulations into practical shop-floor solutions and advise management, operators and project teams with strong visibility on the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's-level education or equivalent working and thinking level.
• At least 3 years of HSE experience within Seveso or ARIE environments.
• Basic understanding of process safety, MOC process, and legislation.
• Experience with risk assessments, audits or incident investigations.
• Knowledge of the European Emission Trading System (ETS) is a plus.
• Strong communication and advisory skills.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; German is a plus.
• Taking ownership of projects and environmental programs.
• Proactive, pragmatic and hands-on mindset
• Able to prioritise and perform effectively in a dynamic production environment

Responsibilities

• Advise management and operations on HSE improvements.
• Support projects and ensure compliance with Seveso regulations and directives.
• Translate European directives and legislation into practical shop-floor solutions.
• Perform inspections, internal audits and incident investigations.
• Organise training sessions and awareness on (environmental) legislation.
• Collaborate with HSE team on process safety and environmental topics.
• Maintain contact with external stakeholders such as DCMR Milieudienst Rijnmond, IL&T and VNCI.
• Provide HSE support during projects, turnarounds and permit amendments.
• Analyse HSE data and report trends and opportunities.
• Intense collaboration with HSE team members
