Job summary

Airswift is searching for an experienced EHS Manager in Rotterdam to lead all Environmental, Health & Safety activities on a major industrial construction project. This key site-based role is essential for driving a safety culture and ensuring compliance across construction phases.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership experience in EHS for large-scale projects, particularly in the Oil & Gas or Chemical sectors, and be fluent in both Dutch and English.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering EHS leadership throughout the full lifecycle of large-scale industrial construction projects.
• Strong background within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, or Energy sectors.
• Demonstrated experience working on brownfield construction projects.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead all Environmental, Health & Safety activities on a major industrial construction project. This is a key site-based leadership role, responsible for driving a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting successful project delivery across all phases of construction.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all EHS activities across the construction site.
• Drive safety performance, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage and supervise site personnel, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Conduct regular safety audits, toolbox talks, risk assessments, and field inspections.
• Ensure full compliance with Basic Safety Process requirements and project-specific safety standards.
• Work closely with Quality teams and contractors to ensure alignment between safety and quality objectives.
• Support the implementation, monitoring, and verification of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Prepare and submit daily EHS and construction supervision reports covering: safety performance, quality observations, workforce and manpower levels, equipment utilisation, contractor performance, schedule progress and cost impacts.

Required Experience

• Proven experience delivering EHS leadership throughout the full lifecycle of large-scale industrial construction projects.
• Strong background within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, or Energy sectors.
• Demonstrated experience working on brownfield construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction logistics, transportation, and material handling.
• Extensive contractor and subcontractor management experience.
