Job summary

STAR is seeking a Controls Engineer to define boundary conditions for safe, efficient HRSG operation and to prepare the technical documentation for implementation.

You will collaborate with Process, Design, and Supply teams to ensure contractual requirements are fulfilled and system interfaces are integrated. Expect FAT/SAT support and Hazop involvement, delivering robust control solutions across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• At least 3 years in measurement and control technology or as a controls engineer.
• Knowledge of DCS systems; Siemens T3000 or SIMATIC PCS 7 preferred.
• Able to translate requirements into clear inputs for PCS programming.
• Solid understanding of fluid flow and heat transfer.
• Able to work independently and meet tight schedules.
• Experience with databases and quick software adaptation.
• Strong communication and coordination within project teams.
• Excellent English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Set boundary conditions for safe, efficient HRSG operation.
• Prepare technical docs and participate in safety/controls meetings with customers.
• Prepare technical specifications and documentation.
• Select instruments for HRSG projects.
• Manage contractual requirements to align with project goals.
• Make decisions in critical situations and own the outcome.
• Distinguish main vs. secondary issues.
• Write the system description for HRSG start-up/shutdown/operation.
• Create Functional Control Diagrams for HRSG.
• Engage in Hazop studies and discuss outcomes with the client.
• Distribute SIL assessments resulting from Hazop.
• Support procurement and selection of Burner Management System.
• Conduct FAT at subcontractors for Process Control Systems (DCS).
• Provide on-site SAT support related to controls.
