VectorY Therapeutics is seeking an experienced HR professional to own day-to-day HR operations for on-site employees in Amsterdam, with occasional work in France and the UK. You will partner with managers, streamline HR processes, and drive strategic projects as part of a four-person team reporting to the interim Chief People Officer.
You will collaborate with the on-site recruiter and a US counterpart, handling payroll, contracts, and process improvements while maintaining a hands-on,
VectorY is a fast-growing biotech company developing long-lasting therapies for neurodegenerative diseases, based at Amsterdam Science Park. We combine gene therapy and antibody engineering to pursue new possibilities where medical need is high. With ~80 professionals across Amsterdam, Europe and the US, we are building momentum, and scaling our organisation and culture thoughtfully. At VectorY, innovation and collaboration are not just values. They are how we will achieve our ambition. We believe the best ideas emerge when people challenge each other openly, work across boundaries, and stay focused on what is right for the organisation. We embrace diversity while striving to function as one cohesive, mission-driven team.
This is a genuinely varied and impactful role. You will own day-to-day HR operations (typically no more than half a day per week) while actively business partnering ~60–65 on-site employees and leading key people projects. You will be the go-to HR contact for managers and employees, find smarter ways to run processes, and help build a stronger people foundation; as part of a team of four, reporting to the (interim) Chief People Officer. You will work closely with our dedicated recruiter (on-site one day a week) and your US counterpart based in Boston. In a typical week you might improve a process in HiBob, handle a few HR admin tasks, meet with people managers seeking advice, progress a strategic project, and connect with a vendor from our network- whilst staying open to whatever emerges in a fast-moving organisation. This role is for you if you are equally comfortable in the detail and the bigger picture; handling payroll and contracts, driving process improvement, supporting managers on real people challenges, and contributing to strategic HR initiatives, sometimes all in the same week.
You are trustworthy and accurate, and people feel safe coming to you. You are proactive, you identify issues and improvements without waiting for permission. You think creatively about solutions and take a long-term view, while staying grounded in day-to-day reality. You are self-organised, flexible when priorities shift, and genuinely energised by making a real difference in a growing organisation. You build relationships easily, and you care about getting things right — both for the organisation and for the people in it.
